Remember Our Kids
Many of you know that November is the month that ALMS holds their annual "Dinner With The Stars." It's a great time when our young adult participants come together to greet, seat and serve our guest dinner. Our youth emcee and are the guest speakers for the evening. However, due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, we won’t be having an in-person annual dinner for 2020. Let me be honest, this year has been hard.
Yet, ALMS is grateful for all of you, your support and the work that ALMS can provide young adults in Woodland and surrounding areas that need support, training and mentoring. This year, we actually have graduates that started and completed the Essentials course in the middle of this pandemic - some by Zoom and others in the park. Thanks to Cathy, Donna and LC, as well as Virginia, Carlos and other mentors who made themselves available and waited for the call, but COVID consistently interrupted services.
We congratulate our youth for securing employment during COVID! Other's have made bold moves like getting their driver's license (which is a big deal for them) and learning how to cook! But, most important, at this time the ALMS Board of Directors and I want to thank YOU, our supporters for being there and believing in our mission!
During this time of Thanksgiving and Holiday giving, ALMS hopes that you will remember us. The annual dinner was our biggest fundraiser and we are asking you to continue being a part of our community.
