Summer Is Here, School is Out!

Let's Build Deeper Connections!

May was an extremely busy month for ALMS. We were privileged to serve Pioneer and Woodland High School students by inspiring trust and seeking new career opportunities. At the end of May, ALMS completed three of the five Speed of Trust series adapted from Stephen M.R. Covey's book, teaching 13 character traits for becoming a trustworthy person on the job and in their personal life. We also provided follow-up with the Job Readiness program to both schools.

The Job Readiness program, which includes resume writing, mock interviews, and taking advantage of the ALMS clothing boutique of casual professional clothing, aims to prepare youth for entry-level employment. A portion of Job Readiness involved participating in the second Industry Tour with Laugenour & Meikle, a Woodland civil engineers and land surveying company. The Woodland Chamber of Commerce's partnership with ALMS made the tour successful.

As summer approaches, ALMS is turning its focus to the students we had the pleasure of meeting during the school year. We are thrilled to extend an invitation to our clubhouse, just as we did during Spring break, for one-on-one sessions with our mentors .

This is a special opportunity for our students to forge deeper connections, share their questions, fears, and future career needs, and most importantly, have a great time! We want our students to understand that even during summer break, we are here for them, ready to offer support and guidance whenever they need it.
