Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays! As the end of 2020 rounds the corner, we at All Leaders Must Serve (ALMS) would like to thank you for your generous contribution and support throughout the year. You have made our mission easier and hopefully you feel a part of the service we provide, because you are! You have made a tremendous difference in keeping our doors open throughout this pandemic so young people know that ALMS is not going anywhere. We are here to stay – with your help.

This year’s pandemic has certainly brought many things to a pause, but we have continued to serve the youth through:

  • Speech writing and public speaking in the park during the summer month. It encouraged and inspired them during difficult times.

  • Microsoft Office computer training opened new doors for them.

  • Assisted in obtaining significant employment toward their careers, and more.

ALMS served Cesar Chavez graduates, as well as others referred by agencies including Neighborhood Court for first-time and low-level offences. Several have already completed the Essentials training during the summer and fall months. One of the attendees had been admitted into the hospital 14 times for suicide attempts. Her mother recently informed us that this has been her longest period without struggling with suicidal thoughts. We believe she has become emotionally healthier, happier, and more secure in her future due to time spent with ALMS mentors. We look forward to continuing our work with her in January; as well as those we are working with now.

And, it's no surprise that ALMS alumni are looking forward to returning to the clubhouse in 2021. We have big plans to utilize the karaoke stage, computer lab, games, lounge, career clothes closet and weekend activities, which will certainly bring relief after a year of distance. It will be a new year and new beginnings in many ways.

Our goal is to fill the 7,000+ clubhouse and training center with young people who desperately need connection, training and love. A campaign to reach aged-out foster youth as well as wayward, rejected and overlooked young adults who have suffered through this pandemic will be out first priority. Won't you help us?

We are inviting you to join ALMS to help address the trauma of 2020 with a message that says, "You matter. We care." We are looking for 50 people who will commit to monthly giving of $20 or more during the year of 2021 in order to sustain our services. This will allow us to focus on enhanced training and services through
