ALMS Students Branch Out
What Happens with New Opportunity?
Life Experiences, building a resume, meeting VIPs, and establishing a network of adults you can learn from are all part of the ALMS strategy. The strategy is not just about the youth, but about the entire community, bringing us all together for a common goal.
Woodland Chamber of Commerce Board member and ALMS Executive Director Jayne Williams proudly watched ALMS students, who have shown remarkable growth and development, streaming the Woodland Chamber of Commerce State of the City event with Mayor Tania Garcia-Cadera and City Manager Ken Hiatt, sharing the many successes over the past ten years of Woodland. Thank you, Woodland TV!
ALMS youth visited Clark Pacific the following week, with Dave Sieferman, Associate Director of Manufacturing Structures, leading the tour. After some great questions from one of the ALMS students, Dave said, "I like this guy!" "Awe, yes! He wants to be an engineer," replied Williams. This interaction was a clear demonstration of the personal growth and development that the ALMS program fosters in its students, showing the effectiveness and significance of the program.
"I had no idea there was so much in this field. I'm more confused now, but in a good way." students agreed. ALMS encouraged the students to remember Dave's personal story - you can start in one job, continue to learn and do more, and work your way up to the top. Learn as much as you can to give back as much as you've gained. That's what leaders do - serve their community. Thank you, Clark Pacific!
Imagine - the impact of changing the trajectory of just one young person’s life. “We would actually change more than that person because we would change how they choose their spouse, love their children, invest into their community, improve their planet – and maybe save the world.”
