Self-sufficient For Sure
Congratulations to Betty, Jeremiah and Ed, three ALMS alumni who have made their way into their first apartment together!!! ALMS could not be prouder of our three little birdies who are turning into eagles and are choosing to fly the nest into the adult world! They came to ALMS in mid-2016 and 2017. Each of them had a different challenge and story. All of them found a family in ALMS. Today, they have a beginning with a history of work, full-time jobs, and an apartment. ALMS couldn't be prouder! This was Betty's Facebook post.
"Today was seafood day at the house! Started the morning with salmon with the skin on and asparagus. And ended the day cooking shrimp alfredo with salad!!!
So glad I can finally cook what I want!
Also, thanks to Jayne Williams and Chris Barton for the pans and kitchen stuff. I love the cookbook. Can’t wait to explore that. Also thanks to Moonrise Grove for the organic olive oil gift. I definitely will enjoy cooking with it.
Hopefully, once COVID is over, we can have all of ALMS come and see what three alumni members look like fully functioning in the world! Love ya.
Help ALMS continue making a difference. Choose to become a monthly giver by going to our website (click on the blue bar below) or a one-time gift. Every dollar counts. Thank you for being there for us. ALMS is committed to being there to train, support, and care for young people who need a family or direction that will prevent homelessness, addiction, crime, and poverty. ALMS will give them time.
